Alloy started its journey in the year 2014. Social media had burst on to the scene and a lot of people took to Facebook to spend most of their time, followed by other applications including Whatsapp, Instagram, Snapchat and so on. But digital advertising was just beginning to take shape.

We did not begin as a digital marketing firm. Our journey rather, began as a marketing firm catering to the marketing needs of any business, be it online or offline.

Our founders, both from engineering backgrounds, always had an incline towards creativity, with an interest in the field of marketing. They believed that marketing needed creativity and freshness more than the technical terms taught in MBA colleges in India.

Thus they set out to test their mettle, starting with small businesses and startups in Visakhapatnam. Since they catered largely to new businesses which, though badly needed marketing, were always short on budget, the campaigns had to be optimised for budgets.

They studied the businesses and came up with some out of the box campaigns, after hours of brainstorming work. These campaigns included various events targeting different sets of target audience, contextual ads distributed through milk packets or vegetables, ads which connected with the target audience in some way or the other.

Some of them worked and some didn’t. Those that worked gave them confidence and exposure. Those that didn’t gave them an opportunity to introspect and explore newer ways. True to their word, they didn’t charge the clients for campaigns that didn’t work.

The turning point came in after a year though. After organising various events, both educational and entertainment ones, for promoting the clients’ businesses, we realised how much we used social media to promote the events. Before influencer marketing was even a thing, we were asking people to share our posts in return for certain incentives.

It didn’t take long for us to realise that social media was going to be the next big thing in the advertising industry. And so, in the year 2015, we shifted our focus to the online world and learnt all the technicalities of Social Media Marketing & Digital Marketing including Google Adwords, Display Ads, Video Advertisements and so on.

We started chalking out online campaigns for our existing clients then and started giving them exact and detailed reports of our campaigns. We observed that the success rate of the campaigns increased and the conversion ratio per spend shot up as well.

Since then, it’s been a linear curve in terms of learning and growth. From startups in educational sector in Visakhapatnam, we now have biggies in different industries including but not limited to Uber, Barista, PILF Pune, The Great African Caravan, Tapp Me, Tea Trails and such prestigious list of businesses in our clientele. Our experience has grown in the industries of education, technology, FMCG, jewellery, restaurants, boutiques and so on, in many major cities in India including Visakhapatnam, Hyderabad, Pune, Bangalore and in Europe, more confined to Belgium.

We believe that there are somethings that experience gives you like nothing else can. Our ability to continue the process of learning even after 4 and half years of experience, keeps us fresh, innovative and unique in a rather competitive world, along with of course, our well optimised budgets and success rate ratios.
